Joseph E. D’Souza D.D.S.
Dr. D’Souza is a 1983 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. His graduate and undergraduate education were also received at the University of Iowa. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Davenport District Dental Society (past president), American Association of Endodontists, Davenport Chamber of Commerce and a is former Rotarian.
Along with a full-time private practice of general dentistry, Dr. D’Souza is an adjunct professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Iowa. He supervises third-year dental students while they rotate through the department. Dr. D’Souza has engaged in clinical research and is the primary author of publications in the Journal of the American Dental Association and Journal of Endodontics.
Dr. D’Souza has presented papers and table clinics at national meetings of the American Association of Endodontists, and state meetings of the Iowa Dental Association. He has lectured at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, and for local Dental Study Clubs.
As a violinist, Dr. D’Souza has played in Community Symphonies and string ensembles since the age of eleven. He serves as a board member for several arts and education institutions. He is also a mountaineer and has an instrument-rated private pilot’s license.
A native of India, he was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. His first job, while applying to University studies, was a tour guide for East African Safaris.
Dr. D’Souza has three children and three grandchildren.
DaNae Krutzfeldt D.D.S.
Dr. Krutzfeldt grew up in Waterloo, Iowa. She attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutions Management. Dr. Krutzfeldt worked as a catering manager for Aramark Corporation at Pioneer Hybrid in Johnston, Iowa and then managed Rock Bottom Brewery and Restaurant in West Des Moines, Iowa. After several years in the restaurant industry, Dr. Krutzfeldt began dental assisting for her father, Dr. Frank Wingrove, in Ames, Iowa. It was during this time she determined that dentistry was her true calling. She returned to school to gain her Doctorate of Dental Science from the University of Iowa in 2007.
Dr. Krutzfeldt’s care, compassion and desire to help people inspired her to gain employment at Primary Health Care in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the primary dentist at the community health center for two years. New opportunities lead Dr. Krutzfeldt to the Quad Cities in 2009, where she joined Dr. D’Souza in private practice.
Dr. Krutzfeldt is licensed by the Dental Board of Iowa and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, the American Association of Women Dentists and the Academy of General Dentistry. She also participates in the I-Smile program and the Give Kids a Smile program.
When Dr. Krutzfeldt is not working she enjoys running, traveling, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.
